Sustainability
Elizabeth Shutters Commercial has committed resources including personnel to developing a sustainable brand of shutter. Elizabeth Shutters Commercial believes that sustainability refers to the ability of the ecosystem to maintain ecological processes. Simply put, to consider ourselves "sustainable" we must improve the quality of human life while living within the carrying capacity of supporting eco-systems. We at Elizabeth Shutters Commercial have vowed to utilize that statement while striving to set new standards and reaching our goals with the Polystile line. Much of the sustainability effort with materials is directed at dematerialization, converting the linear path of materials (extraction, use, disposal in landfill) to a cyclical one that reuses materials indefinitely, much like the cycling and reuse of waste in nature. All of the components that make up a Polystile Shutter are recyclable. Even remnants can be rendered into regrind material which can be extruded to produce other Poly products. Polystile Shutters are finished with a water-based paint that contains no added lead and virtually zero volatile organic compounds (VOCs). During Polystile manufacturing, special care is taken to minimize if not completely eliminate the escape of dioxins into the environment. Elizabeth Shutters Commercial is a green-friendly manufacturer and we fabricate using material flow analysis at all production levels. Polystile Shutters contribute positively to being environmentally sustainable. Polystile Shutters have a high insulating factor and are energy efficient; this will reduce heating and cooling costs which further reduces the drain on our natural resources. Polystile Shutters have little or no out gassing and will not degrade indoor air quality. Finally, Elizabeth Shutters Commercial is dedicated to providing the commercial market a green-friendly alternative choice and we will continue to work to make further improvements to our product and manufacturing process to maintain a sustainable window solution in the coming years. |
